1.You can say that Max is a gentle giant. He is also like a huge teddy bear. Max is very kind, caring, and considerate. I think he has an amazing personality. Max’s grandparents treat him like a baby, yet they let him live his own life. Gram doesn’t usually go to “down-under”, so you can see that their relationship is very disconnected. The kids at school treat Max like he is a small wimp, yet Max is very tall. Living in the “down-under” has affected Max’s personality greatly. When Max enters the “down-under”, he becomes a very sensitive person. For example, after having dinner with Kevin and “the Fair Gwen”, Max returns to the “down-under” and cries. I think the “down-under” is a place where Max can get his feelings out without being embarrassed by other people.
2.I think Freak acts like he is much taller than he really is. What I mean by that is he acts like he is a very important person with a huge personality. He is extremely intelligent and talented and is not afraid to be embarrassed. He views the world like everyone is as smart as he is. I think his “disease” impacts his personality because it makes him so different from others, and maybe hard to approach. It changes his outlook on life because he feels that his “disease” makes him special, and because he’s special, that is what inspires him to be interested in academics.
3.I think Max and Kevin became “Freak the Mighty” because the two are very different, but trustworthy and kind towards each other. Together, I believe that they are unstoppable.
1. Max: a boy who can be described as large, tall, oafish, and dim-witted. Yet, he can also be described as an open person, not shy. His grandparents treat him as if they had been reading too many parenting books. Like they expect him to be a stereotypical teen. All the kids at school treat him like a freak, a Frankenstein. I think that maybe living in the “down under” might affect his social life, but not a lot. Maybe it also makes him not afraid of the dark.
2. Kevin (Freak): a physically disabled boy who is very intelligent, it’s like he knows every thing! Freak also is not intimidated easily, maybe less intimidated than Max. Freak wonders how/if others see different than he can. With his intelligence he also sometimes thinks he has superior knowledge (he dose).
3. I think that maybe Max and Kevin became “Freak the Mighty” by becoming friends. Maybe they’re “Freak the Mighty” because together they are stronger, happier, and more complete.
1. Max is very tall and has a learning disorder. Grim and Gram are very protective of Max. Kids at Maxes school treat Max with no respect and kids at school call him many bad names. “Living under” effects Maxes personality because it makes makes Max more of a loner.
2. Freak is very small and super smart he is also handicapped. Freak views the world from Maxes shoulders. I think Freaks disease effects his view of the world and effects his personality because he can’t freely explore the world also he gets called names because of his disabilities.
3. I think Max and Kevin become freak the mighty by Max getting the enhanced body and being able to carry Kevin everywere.
1. Max is very tall and big (not fat). He does not know how to read. His grandparents treat him nicely and his Gram really cares for him and protects him well. The kids at school treat him like he is very annoying but he hasn’t done anything to them, they just like bulling him. Living “down under” impacts Max’s personality because its dim there and Max is somewhat dull sometimes and its small so maybe that impacts his personality because he doesn’t seem to have many friends so maybe he is very quiet at school.
2. Kevin is small and violent in some ways. Once you get to know him, he doesn’t seem that bad. He has a big imagination and likes robots. His “disease” impacts his personality and changes his outlook on life because he tends to hit people with his crutches and has a temper.
3. I think Max and Kevin became “Freak the Mighty” when Max put Kevin on his back and they were like, 7 feet tall and almost towering over people. Also, in the book, they made a good team fighting off Tony D. (aka Blade).
1.Max is a tall kid that is learning disabled. He looks just like his dad, who is in prison. Because of that, his grandparents might think he will go and kill someone. Kids at school call him “Kicker” because he used to kick kids in daycare. The “down under” makes Max to be more of a loner because, Gram does not go in there.
2.Kevin is a short kid who is very brainy. His mom's name is Gwen. Kevin views the world either as some kind of sci-fi movie, or like it was medieval times. His disease makes it so he has to think fast.
3.They think with Freak's fast thinking and Max's tallness, they were unstoppable.
1. Max is tall, big, and looks just like his dad, Killer Kane. Max has a learning disorder, so he used to be in the LD class (learning disorder) at school. Kids at his school are afraid of him because his dad supposedly killed someone. Living ‘down under ‘impacts max because when he is inside, he feels more free and private.
2. Kevin is small and very brainy. He is physically challenged because of his leg. He views the world as an adventure, filled with robots, dragons and quests. His disease seems to Make him happier and also makes him want to accomplish more in life.
3. I think Max and Kevin became ‘Freak the Mighty’ because they accept one another as friends.
1.) Max is very brave, tall, and likes the basement. He is also learning disabled. His grandparents, Grim and Gram, are protective of him, but respect his privacy. Gram is also uncomfortable to have to look up at him, because of how tall he his. In the book, Gram seems to treat Max like he is younger than he really is. Grim makes a big deal about his “first” cup of coffee and also has him under constant observation because he says that kids at his age are dangerous. Kids at Max’s school aren’t very nice to him. They call him names such as Mad Max and Max Factor. Living in “down under” impacts Max’s personality because he feels like it is more private there and he likes having the place all to himself.
2.) Freak is very smart, short, and knows alot of words from the dictionary. He is also handicapped, but that seems okay with him. Freak views the world like he is in Medieval times or from a long time ago. He is always saying things about King Arthur or knights. He thinks that he has a much better view of the world from Max’s shoulders. I think Freak’s “disease” changes his outlook on life because everyone is always calling him “poor kid” and insulting him. I think it changes his personality because he gets angry and frustrated more often than other people.
3.) I think that Max and Kevin become Freak the Mighty from Freak riding around on Max’s shoulders. I think that people may think that Freak looks less incapable of doing things when he is riding Max. The “Mighty” part may come from the two of them becoming so tall and fierce-looking when combined.
1. Max is a very tall boy and he has a learning disability. Max’s grandparents treat him well exept that they are a little over protective. Kids a school do not treat Max with respect they only think of the way he appears, they cqall him mean names and believe he is stupid. Living in the down under impacts Max’s personality because it probably makes him talk less since he is living underground all alone.
2. Kevin is a very smart person, he is also sort of loud and always looks at the bright side of things. Freak views the world as kind of like a big playground he thinks he lives in a world full of knights with armor and sleighing dragons. Freak’s deise impacts him because it makes him feel more like a child.
3. Max and Kevin became ‘’ Freak the Mighty’’ because they live right next to each other and are almost like best friends because they are always with each other. Both Max and Freak needed a mew friend and they are luck that they found each other.

In way they have very separate lives. The kids at school treat him badly. They ignore him. Max living down under lets him be able to have his own time.

From what I can tell in the book he is insecure about himself because he gets made fun of a lot. I think him living in the down under makes it seem like to him that he is not as close (mentally) to grim and gram as he would be if he was living in the regular house.
2. Freak is and intelligent physically disables person. He looks about two and has yellowish hair. He always wears a leg brace and sometimes uses a crutch. Kevin’s disease changes how often he gets angry and he also gets made fun of a lot.
3. They become freak the mighty because Kevin is a freak and smart and Max is very tall and heavily built. Together they are freakish and mighty thus the name freak the mighty.

3. I think the book title became Freak the Mighty because of the fact that Freak And Max have to face a lot of there fears.
1) Max is a very tall and big boy. He is kind, caring, and accepting of others. Max does not have very much self-confidence and he seems pretty shy. Having a learning disability slows Max down and he does not feel very good about his academics. He lives with his Grandparents he calls Grim and Gram. He does not have a very good relationship with his grandparents. It is as if he doesn’t even live with them. His bedroom is in a basement-like area under his grandparents’ house’ (he calls it “down under”.) He basically lives in his basement room. Grim and Gram do not even treat him like a family member. Along with many others, his classmates do not treat him very well. They treat him like a wimpy loser and call him names. He has very few friends. I think that living “down under” impacts Max because it makes him feel separate from his grandparents. Also, It is far from the rest of the world, and that’s how it may make Max feel. But, I also think it is good for him because it is a place for him to have alone time and let his feelings out.
2) I think that Freak is somewhat the opposite of Max. Freak is about two feet tall but acts as if he is 8 feet tall. He accepts the fact that he is different and believes that being different is great (it is!) He is very smart and he knows it! As you may have already figured out, he is very confident. Freak is the type of person who looks at the glass half-full instead of half-empty. He makes every thing an adventure. For example, he has the ability to turn walking on the sidewalk into walking on a very dangerous bridge. I think that his “disease” impacts his personality because he does not try to be normal because he knows he is not. Also, since he cannot do sports with his “disease”, he chooses to focus on other talents like being smart and doing well with academics.
3) I think that Max and Kevin (Freak) became Freak the Mighty because they both have different talents that work well together. I think Freak realized this when he was on Max’s shoulders at while running away from horrible gang-type guys. When they are Freak the mighty, they are unstoppable!
1) Max is big and tall but kind to others. He doesn’t seem to like himself because he has a learning disorder, and thinks that he is not very smart. His grandparents, Grim and Gram, treat him like a little kid and don’t talk to him much. They mostly let him be alone and live in “down under.” Other kids at school are mean to him and call him names. They also act like they are better than him. Living in “down under” makes it so Max doesn’t see other people and is a little more sensitive. It also gives him a place to be alone.
2) Kevin is very small but also very smart. He knows so many things he never really says anything simply. He acts bigger and stronger than he is. He acts like everyone is very smart and can understand what he is saying. His “disease makes it so he trys to learn more and be tough even though people wouldn’t expect it. He also feels that he is very important and special even though his “disease” makes him different.
3) Max and Kevin became “Freak the Mighty” when they were having their first “adventure” at the fireworks and the police officer asks who they are and Kevin says, “We’re Freak the Mighty, that’s who we are.” They probably became Freak the Mighty because they were friends and experienced some of the same thin gs
1. Max is very big and tall. He is not the smartest person because he has a learning disorder. His grandparents are really protective of him, especially Gram. Grim is kind of strict. The kids at max's school are really mean and disrespectful. They treat him like dirt and they call him a bunch of mean names. Living "down under" really affects his life because no one usually goes down there and he doesn't have any friends other than Freak. He doesn't really have anyone to talk to other than himself when he in "down under"
2. Freak is extremely small and he is crippled. He rides on Max's shoulders most of the time because he is so short. He is also very smart. He views the world as if everyone was as smart as him. His disease makes his personality very different from other people.
3. Max and Freak would be a really good team even though there the exact opposite of each other. I think they become "Freak the Mighty" because they can defeat many enemies together.
1. Maxwell is large, friendly, caring. He is a dimwit but can be kind. He dose have a learning disability. He is very open with people, so he is not that shy. He looks like his father, who is in prison. His grandparents like him and treat him well but his grim dose not want him to be a troublemaker. Kids at school treat Max like a freak. Living in the “down under” influence on him is negative because it is dark and gloomy.
2. Kevin (Freak) is a small, kind smart boy. He likes robots. I think he thinks he is taller. Freak has very little fears. Freak view on the world is like he was on max’s shoulders. Kevin’s “disease” makes his point of view on the world stranger than most people. He acts like a robot because of it.
3. I think Max and Kevin, Freak, become “Freak The Might” because they are together they are nice, trustworthy, and unstoppable.

They don't see him for the normal person on the inside. The fact that he lives down under would scare me a little, but for him it is a place where he feels relaxed and not afraid to express himself. Being in place where he feels safe will impact his personality because he has a different perspective of life.
2) Kevin is small with a big mind. He may be little but can very well speak his mind. He is strong on the outside, but soft on the inside. Kids treat him as if he where younger and can not handle himself. I think his disease impacts his personality because he has different perspective in life which can very well change his personality. I think they will become freak the mighty as they face there challenges and fears together as ONE.

Max’s grandparents, Grim and Gram, always are watching out for him. They treat him like he is dangerous.
2. Freak (Kevin) has metal braces on his legs and is really short with a big head. He has a disease but he doesn’t care. He is his own person still and views himself positively. Living in a fantasy world, he pretends to be from outer space, pretends to be a robot, and calls Max earthling. Speaking with big words as if he is a talking dictionary, he is very smart.
3. I think Max and Freak become “Freak the Mighty” because they are really good friends. They also work well together.
1.Max is a kind and caring and different in his own special way. He is very easy going and has good choices about difficult situations. His grandparents treat him like a baby but an adult at the same time. Grim and Gram are always worrying about him wondering if he is alright not getting him self in danger, but they let him have is own life down under. Living down under impacts his personality because it's his own little place where he can be by him self alone from Grim and Gram's constant questions.
2. Freak has a huge personality considering how small he is. He acts bigger than he really is to show that brains is what matters not hight. He views his world everyone being smart and knowing all he does. His disease effects his personality because he most likely wouldn't have became a brainiac about robots. What also changes is that he makes up these stories about his implants for his legs that his legs are robots.

2.) Freak is a young boy who is very smart. He is handy capped with two robot legs. Freak acts very fierce and has a big personality for a small person. Freak views things like they are very complicated, but he still knows all about it. He treats things like they are smaller and more complex than they really are. Freak’s disease impacts his life by making it harder for him to do things. Even though Freak is handy-capped and has a disease, he gets through and acts like any other child (even though he is smarter than most of them). This disease impacts Freak’s personality, because without it Freak would probably not act so fierce.
3.)I think they become Freak the mighty because they have very different personalities, but they still except each other. They are both mighty, and mighty sort of sounds like Max and to add Freak it sort of sounded like Freak the Mighty.
1) Max a tall boy who has a learning disability, doesn’t want people to worry. Max is kind person who is not afraid to stand up for Kevin (Freak). Max also acts very respectful around his grandparents. His grandparents tend to worry bout Max they offend act over-protective, but are also very respectful of his privacy. Kids in school treat him like trash and they call him names. Living “down under” impact Max’s personality because he is living in a humble living situation and he is also very humble.
2) Kevin is very small and is not afraid to speak his mind. He is very smart, but is also physically challenged. He views the world as if he was a robot and he when he re met Max he called him Earthling. Having his “ disease” causes him to see the world from creative outlook on life.
3) Max and Kevin become Freak the Might because one night on the Fourth of July, Max put Kevin on his shoulders to get a better view. The they got into this big dispute and the cops got involved.The officer asked what their “names” were, Kevin was still on Max’s shoulders. When Kevin replied Freak the Mighty, that was the start of a new adventure. I think they are called “Freak the Mighty” because together they are nine feet tall.

People think he looks a lot like his father, who is in jail. They say it as sort of a bad thing.,Bbt Max doesn’t understand what is so bad about it. He is bored a lot, and the “down under” kind of makes him gloomy and not that social. All he does is read comic books and retreat to his bed, or underneath(preposition) his bed to be exact. Under(another preposition) there he is in his own little world.
2. Freak is a crippled kid who is extremely intelligent. He is called freak because he is so small and smart. His real name is Kevin. He sees many people as “cretins”. He is disappointed, and amused when people don't get his extremely large vocabulary. He loves to see the world as a magical land, with dragons and knights and other mystical creatures. His “disease” keeps him indoors because it is such a burden on him to walk. This makes him read a lot, thus making him smarter. He also likes to watch Star Trek.
3. They become “Freak the Mighty” because freak likes to ride on Max’s shoulders, making him nine feet tall, two feet above Max. They were caught in some mud, being chased by blade, when the cops come and scare blade and his gang away. When they ask them their names, Freak says they are “Freak the Mighty”. That is how they became “Freak the Mighty”. Freak probably wanted to sound cool, as if they have been called this the entire time, and also wanted to show off his supreme new “body” (a.k.a, Max) that is kind of controlled by him . Riding on Max’s shoulders must make him feel mighty.

2. Kevin is very small and very smart. He has a disease. He thinks that he is the smartest person in the world. However he fells alone. His disease impacts his personality because he can’t do some things that his friends can do.
3. I think they become freak the mighty by helping each other with their challenges. Then they become best friends.
1. Max is a boy that is nice and tall, but not to smart. Max very caring and friendly though. Max’s grandparents watch over him and try to help him in difficult situations. Gram always tries to help whenever she can. Grim observes him and he is always attentive. Kids treat him with no respect and they call him names. It impacts Max’s personality because he shuts down and doesn’t think his is good at anything.
2. Freak is a disabled boy who is really smart and small. He thinks of the world, as like everybody is the same and that it is just a big game. I think it impacts his personality because it makes him feel comfortable.
3. I think they became “Freak the Mighty” because they stand up for themselves against bullies. Also, Freak is what everybody calls Kevin because he is so smart and Max is Mighty because he is strong and big. I also thing that they were both lonely and needed a friend. Then they found each other and had a lot in common. They have a lot of fun together.

1) Max is a massive kid with a learning disorder. Grim and Gram treat max like if he’s their son, even though grim is really strict and has tight rules. Gram is kind and gentle, like Kala in Boy of the Painted Cave; except Gram has some emotional problems. Living “down under” can impact Max’s life because he barely gets social and never gets to see the “outside world”.
2) Kevin is a small short kid with a medical disease. Kevin is a brainy, tiny little kid with a big attitude and a impossible to describe personality. He sees the world as a world with thousands of robots and “dreams to become one”. The origin of his obsession with these droids started in daycare when freak (aka, Kevin) get his leg brace, and so from that day on, he decided to be a “robot”.
3) How Kevin and Max became “Freak the mighty” was on the Fourth of July, when Tony D. (blade) decided to harass Freak and Max. During the next few moments, Max had no place to escape- except the lake. He ran to the pond, but when Max got a few meters away, his feet got stuck.
Blade’s gang figured out to throw rocks at the Kevin and Max. A cop car was cruising slowly when the police saw all the chaos. They came to the rescue, saving Max and Freak out of the water. In my opinion, The pair (Max and Kevin) decided to be called “Freak the Mighty” because I think when Kevin was up on Max’s shoulders, Freak felt mighty, so that gives the name “Freak the Mighty”.
1. Max is a learning disabled, kind, caring, and a very tall boy. He sometimes gets confused by what Freak says, but is happy to have Freak as a friend. Max’s grandparents don’t treat him very nicely, because they think he is too much like his dad. Although, they are very proud of him, the night he saved Freak. The kids at school treat him like a small wimp, even though he is really big. Living in the down-under affects Max’s personality because he does not have as much of a relationship with his grandparents.
2. Freak is a very intelligent, smart, small, considerate, physically disabled boy. He is very smart, and he too is happy to have Max as a friend. He views the world as if it is the time of the knights of the round table. I think his “disease”, impacts his personality, because he cannot move around very well, so he uses his words, and mind to express himself.
3. Max and Freak become Freak the mighty, because when the police asked Freak their names he said proudly, “Freak the Mighty”. He probably said that, because he wanted to be great friends with Max, and felt that together that they were, “Freak the Mighty.”
1. Max is a really big and tall boy. He is growing so fast that he is out growing his shoes and tripping over his feet. He looks like his father who is in prison so people are scared of him. The kids at school are not nice to him and make up names for him. But Max is a caring boy. Max lives with his mother’s parents. His grandparents are nice and try to give him hugs but they don’t seem very close. Max lives in a small cellar under his grandparent’s house. Living in “down under” isolates him from the rest of the family. It is very dark, damp and lonely. His grandmother never goes into his room to check on him. Living in the “down under” would make you feel like you were unwanted by everybody.
2. Kevin is very small boy who has to use crutches to walk. He is very smart and has a wonderful vocabulary. His nickname is Freak and he views the world like a giant playground. His disease affects freak’s life but his imagination and brains help him rise above that. Freak is always relaxed around danger.
3. They became Freak the Mighty because freak is always on Max’s shoulder steering him around the area. They are Freak and Mighty because they both are different but when they are together they can rule the world with brains and bronze.
1 Max is a very nice boy his elders treat him like he is two when max feels sad there is a place for him.
2 Freak feels like he is bigger than everybody. His disease makes him inspired for acidemic strides.
3 Freak the mighty was born when two friends meet they are two diffrent people.
1. Max is a big, not-so-smart klutz that has problems socially. His grandparents treat him strictly but nicely. The kids at school feared him and treated him meanly. Living in “down under” makes Max not used to anyone being with him in his “room.”
2. Freak is an intelligent, crippled little genius that is very friendly. His disease makes him act like a robot and treats humans like aliens.
3. They become Freak the Mighty because when Freak goes on Max’s shoulders, they, combined, are gigantic and 9 feet tall.
1. Max is large for his age he does not work well with people probably because he lives in a basement alone. Max’s grandparents fear and resent him. The kids at school treat max as he is some kind of freak.
2. Freak is small and a brainier than Max. Freak views the world as a place to learn. Freaks “disease” makes him unable to play sports very well so he spends most of his time reading.
3. Max and Kevin become “Freak the Mighty” because Kevin has a big brain and max has a bulky body.
1. Max is the perfect definition of "B.D.U." (big, dumb and ugly). This is how he would describe himself even though we start to see that there is much more to him then that. His grandparents, Grim and Gram, are somewhat suspicious of him and a bit skeptical. Gram is always giving him plenty of his own space yet is worried about what he does in his space. Grim is skeptical of Max's motives but you can see he wants to be proud of him. Max is already a bit of a loaner and living alone "down under" only makes this isolation stronger. Max would rather live alone but probably should not because he is already shy and removed and living alone makes it worse.
2. Kevin, aka The Freak, is an extremely smart kid born with a physical disability. His disability can be called "little people syndrome" but there is nothing little about his personality. He spends a lot of time in fantasy land and pretends the world is a big game in King Arthur's time. His disability impacts his personality because it is very large which makes up for his being small in size.
3. While watching fireworks on July 4th, Kevin was complaining he couldn't see anything. So, Max picked him up and threw him onto his shoulders. This became their preferred means of traveling together and instead of being two separate guys, they now traveled as one. When they ran into the town bully, Blade, they became a force to be reckoned with. Once they combined Kevin's fast talking with Max's size and strength, they became Freak the Mighty.
1. Max is very tall and big for his age, though despite his appearance he is very nice and you could consider him as a gentle giant. At school kids treat him badly and call him names because his dad killed people. I think living down under impacts his personality because he is always alone in a dark room so he never meets people and makes friends.
2. Freak is very optimistic and he always looks at the bright side, he is very smart and intelligent to, and he thinks everything is an adventure. His disease made him smaller so when he was on Max’s shoulder he was amazed at how different everything looked.
3. I think Max and Kevin become “Freak the mighty,” because they act as one person, Max does the walking, and Freak does the talking and guiding.
1. Max is a very big, and rough person. That is why people call him “Kicker” for kicking a lot. He is also very nice and caring too. His grandparents treat him like a child instead of a young man. At school, the kids don’t treat him very nicely probably because he is so tall. When he is living in the “Down Under”, he probably doesn’t have a great relationship with Grim and Gram.
2. Kevin is a disabled, yet extremely intelligent kid. He is so smart because when he talks to Max, Max doesn’t even know have the words he is saying. Freak probably sees the world bigger since he is small and people probably make him sad because they make fun of him.
3. The two become freak the mighty because when Max puts Freak on his shoulders they are bigger because Max is so tall.
1. Max is a boy who is tall and has a learning disability. He is very independent and likes to be on his own. Max is going into eighth grade when the story takes place. Max is always curious and wondering about things. His grandparents Grim and Gram are very over-protective and treat him like a little kid. At school kids make fun of Max and call him names. Grim built Max a room in the basement so he could be independent and live on his own. This makes Max a self-sufficient boy who can start learning to take care of himself.
2. Kevin/Freak is very short and paralyzed. Freak is extremely smart and looks up countless words in the dictionary. He has a big imagination and likes robots. Freak’s view on the world is that he thinks everyone is as smart as him and always understands him. His disease makes him very short tempered and sometimes violent.
3. Max and Kevin/ Freak become the “Freak the Mighty” because they are good friends and stand up for each other. As “Freak the Mighty” they are a team and can watch out and help each other. For example Max helps Freak by putting him on his shoulders so Freak can see what it is like to be tall. Freak helps Max steer around obstacles when he is on Max’s shoulders.
